With the launch of the Aaykar Setu App, paying the income tax, applying for Permanent Account Number (PAN) and seeking solution of grievances have all become easier. With the launch of this app the taxpayers can perform basic functions related to taxpaying on their smart phones.
This mobile app will assist people in linking their 12 digit Aadhaar number with the PAN (Permanent Account Number) as well as in tracking of the TDS deduction details. The mobile App known as “Aaykar Setu” was launched by Finance Minister and it literally means bridge for the taxpayers and will be available for Android phones.
This launch was considered as an important step taken forward by CBDT and the principle reason for this is technology emerging as a very powerful tool. By utilizing this app most of the work, tax payer can discharge can be done at home without any external help. The app is the first app by the CBDT and can be downloaded by giving missed call on the number-7306525252. The app will also provide the facility of a live chat which is named “Chatbot” from 10am to 6pm, which will provide the solutions to the user’s queries related to TDS, PAN, TAN, tax payments, return filing as well as refund status. Apart from this, the people can also have a live chat with the experts in the field of taxation and it also provides addresses of the nearby tax return Preparer.
It assists in delivering ease of use of all the services related to payment of tax, including the tax calculations. Also, if the taxpayer has some problem, this app will help with lodging the grievances in the e-Nivaran CBTD module. Through this app the tax payers will also be able to receive regular updates on important dates related to tax payment, forms as well as notifications to the mobile number registered with the Income tax Department. The users who wish to receive the message (SMS) alerts can register their mobile numbers in the Aaykar Setu app module.
The CBDT (“Central Board of Direct Taxes”) will also activate the option of filing the individual’s tax returns using the mobile app in the coming months. The app also has a section known as “Tax Gyaan”,which will be a multiple choice questions (MCQs) based game to provide the youth knowledge about taxation on mobile as well as desktop. The mobile app is an effort by the CBDT to provide enhanced taxpayer services and reduce the users’ grievances.
The launch of this app is the step by the IT Department to directly communicate with the taxpayers by providing useful tax related services and information related to tax payment on the fingertips of the people. You can also use this app for dealing with your tax payments related tasks.
